Anyone use shampoo bars instead of bottles?
If so, what brands do you guys like? And how long do they last you? Along with how often you wash your hair?

Yes! And I loveee them!
I use 3 Sisters Apothecary. (The green one / rosemary). I get it at Whole Foods. I also use their hair oils, but the shampoo bar is my fav.
I wash my hair every 3 days. And once every two weeks I’ll use a liquid clarifying shampoo since my hair is so prone to oil and buildup.
I’ve noticed new little baby hairs growing when I started using this brand. Keep them out of direct water flow from your shower head to save them longer. I just put my bar on the opposite side of the shower where the water doesn’t hit.
LUSH also has a good one, but I’ve noticed it breaks apart after a few uses. I don’t like that. I love how the 3 Sisters Bar holds up completely.

@santistevanmommie, that’s exactly why I made the switch! Last year my New Years resolution was to watch my family’s foot print / waste.
All their packaging is recycled as well. And the oils come in a glass jar. I really like the company.
I also started buying Whole Foods Bar soaps (you’ll see them in the same area as the shampoo.)
They are like 5 for $10.00 or something like that. I just save the brown bag you purchase them in and then bring the bag back with me and reuse that bag over and over. Literally haven’t bought liquid body wash since last new year and it’s been just fine for us!

she is prone to cradle cap (still! Ugh) so we buy super large “jugs” of shampoo & detangler from Tubby Todd. I’m hoping when she’s older I’ll be able to just buy bar shampoo for everyone but her hair is the worst. Lol!
Tubby Todd is super environmentally friendly so that does make me feel a tad bit better.
We do use the bar body soap for her though.

I love lush! It depends on the bar there’s an argon oil one that would crumble quickly but because of the oil properties 🤷🏻♀️ but the one that reallly did well for my course thick hair was the honey one! I don’t remember how long it lasted because I’ve stopped going because there’s one nowhere near me anymore but that was washing every other day. They also have solid conditioners like the shampoo!

Yes! I was hoping I could find bar conditioner too! I’ll look into lush. We don’t have anything near us. Our closest wal mart is 30mins away lol
