If planning for unmedicated birth, is there anything I should ask the doctor that the hospital could supply? (For example if they have rooms with bathtub, should I bring my own exercise ball?) What's my best route besides breathing techniques to help that I should look into? I really want to try unmedicated more than anything but I'm just lost to what I feel like I may want? I've read so much and I just ugh I'm stressed out and to the point in my pregnancy I could go into labor in a day or 3 weeks so I really need to figure out what helped other mommas do unmedicated because this momma is about to get gray hair thinking about labor lmao

Most hospitals supply an exercise ball, peanut ball, & support bars. These are all used for natural positioning. I literally used them all during my labor.
Additionally does aromatherapy work for you at all? My hospital had recently started using essential oil and diffusers. I was bummed they didn't have a nurse there that could unlock it but we planned ahead and brought some of our own scents just in case. Anything that relaxes you. Mine was a vanilla bedroom mist and my husband's body wash. Ask about if the bath has to be set up and tore down? My hospital would have to set it up which takes about an hour and tear it down for me to be able to deliver. I wasn't super keen on a tub anyway as I wanted gravity on my side (a bath tub the weight can be put on your body more) so I used the shower which worked perfectly because my hubby could get in with me as well (which I also didn't think would be as comfortable for us in the tub).
As far as breathing techniques it doesn't matter how you breath, the count thing is to help you focus on the numbers if you want to. All I did was remember slow deep breaths. When I felt a contraction I was relaxing all of my muscles and slowly blowing the air out like I was blowing the contraction away. If you feel yourself gripping don't grab someone's hand and grip tighter (like in the movies) try to relax and open your hands all the way to calm your muscles. This will help your body use the contractions towards labor and not to tighten and stress all of your other body muscles.
I brought a focal point which is very helpful to keep your mind in a happy place and calm down. Mine was a honeymoon picture from scuba diving and I brought my snorkel. I set it up by the tv so when I needed to focus I would.
I also had my own mantra...this is a bit off. Mine was "this is pain with a purpose...good pain, I can handle this!" But the truth was I didn't use that mantra. Each time a contraction hit I didn't think of that because it wasn't painful...i was just tired. Instead my brain kept running through, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"
Lastly and to me most importantly is be all in! If you want a natural nonmedicated birth tell yourself that everyday, that's it, there are no other options! My doula put it this way: medication is like a snickers bar. You don't want to eat any candy. It's sitting on the table and you walk by, your not really hungry so you leave it. However, as you get more hungry it is looking better and better and it's right there on the table...do you have and eat the snickers? Most do. So if you take it off the table...its not there and focus on what you do have (different positions, support people, relaxation techniques, happy focal point, and a personal goal!) You can throw that snickers bar out the window for good.
That was super long but hopefully helpful. If you have any questions for me feel free. :)

Both my boys were medicated and I plan to do the same for this one as well.
The best advice I have is if it does start to hurt, try to find positions that best help you when your contractions hit. For my second, I found that holding a pillow in between my knees helped take the pressure out of my contractions. For both boys though, it wasn't bad until 8-9/10. But during that last hour or two, they are more intense and hit back to back. Its best to focus on your breathing. I got really got with each contraction so a cool rag to lay on your head always comes in handy!
But keep in mind everyone is different and handles labor differently. But i do wish you a safe and easy delivery.

Girl I highly recamand you get the epidural or some kind of medication, my contractions were so bad I puked twice so I couldn't imagine having a contraction and pushing at the same time. It would have been to much for me and the pain I prob wouldn't have pushed so good like I did with the epidural. I got him out less than an hour Becuase I was completely numb just felt pressure. But if your totally against it then that's alright I just wanted to tell you my experience and how bad my contractions were there was no way I would have been able to focus on my pushing and breathing.

But just because yours was that bad doesn't mean hers will be. Mine was extremely easy. With both my deliveries I didnt even know I was having contractions until I hit 7.5cm and they didn't hurt u til 8. And pushed 16min with the first, 11min for the second.
Everyone handles labor differently. She is looking for advice and support on having an unmedicated, natural birth, not to be told she should get the epidural.

Yes you have to relax your muscles as much as possible during contractions. Focusing on your breathing helps a lot. I personally loved the bath and kept everyone out of the room when the contractions were really bad. Don't let the nurses and doctors boss you around about pain meds either! Women are made for birthing. It's possible to have them natural!

It's great you want to go unmedicated, but don't be opposed to using an epidural or other medication to help with the pain of contractions, my first I had an epidural (it was a life saver) because she took a while to come out So I needed something to help with the pain so I can relax & take a nap.
My second was all natural. She came out super fast! It was painful, but the best experience.

Also, I will add, when you go unmedicated, understand you will feel the ring of fire! Meaning when baby's head is out, it feels like your crotch is being torched because it all stretches at once. But it only last for about 20-30seconds.
