I just feel like I need to rant. My heart is completely shattered into a million pieces. I feel like i can’t keep all these emotions to myself. My sweet nephew Chase who I’ve helped raise the past few years had an eye appointment today with a specialist who told us he is 70% blind. He has a disease that is causing him to lose his eye sight and within two years everything will go completely black for him they say. It will start just fading away until he just can’t see at all. There is a surgery they can do but they say it’s very very risky and his mom just isn’t sure if she’s willing to risk his life. I feel helpless and just heartbroken. I want to do everything in the world to make him better. I never pictured his life to be this way. He has high functioning autism and he’s always been afraid of the dark. How can this baby live in the dark when he doesn’t even want to close his eyes for a second? I’ve just held him and cried and cried all I can today with his mama. I can’t imagine how hard this is going to be for him, for his mama, for his sisters, and even me. I feel like the glue trying to hold everyone together and I just want to scream and cry for my booboo. He’s always been my baby and I just don’t know how we’re going to get through this. If you believe in anything please pray for my buddy. Pray for his family. Pray for him to understand. Pray that we can save atleast one eye. I could ask god a million questions but I just want to hold onto faith that he will get through this. 😭
