Baby girls only been getting about 2 wet diapers a day for the past 2-3 days - went to the er last night and they said to give pedialyte. No change today, should I go back? I’m worried
Nope. Not a single drop at night, but she gets up to nurse 2-3x a night so she doesn’t get into that deep of a sleep. I normally have to change her at least once. And then her diapers just dramatically declined during the day.
@lorany, did they check her for urinary reflux?
@_sheriee, no, they gave her 140ml of fluids because her bloodwork came back good so we’re just hoping for 2 more diapers today
My pediatrician only has an on call nurse that will tell you to go to the er if you think you need to
@lorany, right. That’s what you need to know, if you need an ER or you can wait to see them.
@sweetsap88, she’s drinking from my boob as well as drinking the pedialyte, her mouth is wet, she’s drooling and tears come out when she’s crying. So I believe she’s getting enough fluids, I’m just not sure why she’s not making diapers
@lorany ok, will you be taking her back to the er tonight? I'd be worried about the diapers too. I don't know a lot, so I'd be thinking she's hydrated enough that she can make tears and keep her mouth wet, but not enough to put out diapers. I'm not sure if that's how it works though :( sorry mama
@sweetsap88, yeah I’m going to be going back, I feel terrible for exposing her to er germs 2 nights in a row, but I’m going to be going to a children’s er today so hopefully they tell me more than just ‘give her pedialyte’ thank you so much
And she’s not been peeing all night, she wakes up with a dry diaper.
@lorany I would call her pedi If they have an oncall number or a nurses line and explain this to them but I would go in
Is she not going at night or just not going at all? My daughter wouldn’t go at night for a while. Doctors told me it was normal since she was in a deep sleep.
