Can someone tell me how they found out they had preeclampsia?? I’m super concerned I do

Never had it but I have heard protein in urine and/or high blood pressure.

I had the starts of preeclampsia when my dr decided to induce me. I had high blood pressure and was seeing stars even while sitting down.

@db413, I do all the time and I’ve looked up the symptoms and another is a sharp pain in your ribs right side and I’ve been having it. Also if family has had it it’s more than likely you can and my mom had it when she was having me

For me, it started with high blood pressure. I bought a bp monitor at home and once it got high I called my dr.

Consistant high blood pressure first. The doctor will then check your urine for protein and have you do a stress test in the office. I had preeclampsia with my first. My blood pressure would spike as soon as I stood up and towards the end would stay high even after resting. I was put on bed rest and monitored closely. I had to pee in a jug at home and have it tested for protein within 24 hours of staring to fill it up. It was a hassle at times, but worth it as long as my daughter was okay. I would definitely call the doctor about any concerns. Your more likely to have it with your first. It's not uncommon.

I had perfect blood pressure until the night I got induced at 36 weeks, almost 37. I had horrible chest pain that was also in my stomach. I thought it was just really bad indigestion. Went to the ER and my blood pressure was 175 over 108. My liver was failing and that's what was causing the pain. I was also really swollen from 30 weeks until I gave birth.
