Husband works nights now.... which means I have to get my step kids to bed.. (both over 10) should be easy but its not because they dont listen to me when their father isnt around 😒 have been telling my step son since 830 to get in the shower which he FINALLY just got in because I went in and took his ps4 controller. told my step daughter at 10 shes going to her room for bed and she decides she wants to try to take off her acrylic nails which I know will take her forever and I have no idea how to help take them off cause I only ever got my nails done once! when their father is home they're in their rooms relaxing by 930.. being a step parent has such challenges. I hate being mean but I really need to start putting my foot down because it's the reason I'm being stepped on 😓

Dip cotton balls in nail polish remover and wrap it around her fingernails with tin foil.....that's what the nail salons do! Except have her do it not you bc you don't want to be breathing that in! It works better with acetone !

And girl , my kids do the SAME exact thing to me when my husband works late. except he is the step parent, not me! They walk all over me bc I let them get away with so much for so long and now if I yell at them it's like I'm the bad guy and they don't take me serious 😑 they have so much respect for my husband though...so don't take it personally, bc my kids are the same!!!❤️

@mamakiki3 I was literally just reading that! Thanks alot! I checked and the nail polish remover I have its acetone so I'll have her do it!

@kendrav that's awesome! Good luck.... It like melts away all the acrylic and works alot better than trying to rip them off . Then just have her file what's left!

@mamakiki3 I know I dont want to be like the "mean step parent" but I need to find a way to be a great one but also one that gives discipline that's somewhat taken seriously! I know their kids and I dont take it to heart they dont listen but ugh it gets pretty old when everything I ask them goes right over their head.. if they could just every once in a blue moon do what I ask the first or maybe even 3rd time I ask I'd be happy lol
