I was sick for like the past 2 weeks and was breathing through my mouth a lot because my nose was so congested and my lips got extremely dry and cracked. I tried chapstick, carmex, etc. only thing that actually worked was plain Vaseline. I coated my lips with a pretty thick layer before bed and when I woke up they were still dry but there was a big improvement.
