Sitting at my daughters dance class listening to her scream and cry for me..... this is her 5th class and she won’t do any of it unless I’m holding her hand... can anyone relate or tell me this will get better? Every week I wanna cry too at this point lol she’s with me all day every day even at work, you would think she would need a break too 🤷♀️

Maybe she’s not ready? Mines only been in dance for a short time but she asks me not to leave before every class so far but the min she sees the other kids it’s like I don’t exist lol..

Why can’t you hold her and hand do it with her until she’s confident enough to do it by herself? If you look at it from her perspective it can be quite daunting

My son started a new gymnastics class this week and although he does a lot of classes already (some where I sit out), he was a bit shy to start with and wanted me there so I was there with him for as long as it took. I’m sure after a few weeks of the same thing he will be more than happy to run off with the other kids, but for now he needs the security of me being there which is fine with me

@harloeagain21, @emmamarch16th, update.. I should have waited till after class to post lol. Something clicked in that sweet little brain of hers and she participated and had a blast lol. She trusted that I was just in the other room and wasn’t going anywhere! I am so beyond proud and she’s looking forward to dancing again next week!

Bless her heart, it must have been a bit daunting for her to start with which is understandable. Everything’s a learning curve !
