MOM GUILT IS REAL. So yesterday Theon only wanted about one feed all day and slept, his mouth was really dry so I decided it was better to give him some formula. (And earlier in the day I had tried my breast pump out to see what I was producing and stimulate anything. Just barely a drop when on high for half an hour) Theon guzzled up the formula and I feel awful that clearly in the past 2 days he wasn’t being fully satisfied and now we’ve both just had a decent 5hr sleep with him in his cot! Feeling guilty about clearly not giving him what he’s needed and feeling guilty about giving him a bottle 😔

@mrsmowmow, the midwife was supposed to come over yesterday but didn’t make it.
Yeah I thought colostrum is enough but I’m barely even producing that xx

Don’t feel guilty. I remember I was the same, my little girl had a tongue tie so wasn’t latching properly. Has he been checked? Or ask them to check. Or if you have to use formula that’s ok! Fed is best xx

Hold on... did you do the right thing for your baby?? Then surely you’ve been a good mum and have nothing to feel guilty about! Don’t be so hard on yourself, you are learning in the job. It’s still early days and there’s still time to establish breastfeeding if that’s what you want to do x

Don't feel guilty Hun. I had the same with Luke. I had to give him formula as my milk didn't come in until day 4/5. It doesn't mean you've done anything wrong and you can breast feed him if that's what you want to do I transferred Luke back to breast and he has a tongue tie which did affect his latch but you can overcome and it may mean that feeding takes longer but that won't matter to your baby. It's more personal time with you so you're bonding. You are doing a great job xx
