My son had a fever of 39.5 C and I gave him Tylenol and so it dropped a little to 38.8 C. I went to emerg on oct 31 and they checked him and found no signs of visible infection and his oxygen levels were good. Doctor said it could be a cold coming on. No cold has shown up and my son has had a cold before and was never like this. He still has a fever and is lethargic and hardly has energy when he’s normally super energetic. Under eyes are darker too. No other symptoms. Does anyone else have ideas of what this could be? I hate not being able to help him. I’ll be bringing him back to emerg if things don’t improve today.

@em.schultz0, yes he’s still drinking. His appetite decreased a little though. He’s lethargic when the fever is up. When I give him Tylenol he seems more himself. More fatigue than usual though. He seems run down. Can cold weather do this? We did go outside ..

Might be an ear infection , would definitely get him looked at again
Is he drinking normally ? I’d definitely bring him back in, especially if he’s lethargic.
@em.schultz0, ugh I feel horrible. I keep blaming it on myself for not dressing him warm enough or something. He was around another child too so I’m not sure if that may have contributed as he’s not always exposed to other babies and kids. My family keeps saying it’s because he was on the grounds where goose were at the little man made pond we were at 🙄🙄 ugh sounds stupid but now that even petrified me
