My friend miscarried about 3 weeks ago. She went to the doctor Oct. 18th and a very faint line showed on the pregnancy test but the ultrasound was clear. She took another test at home a week later and it was negative and then she took one yesterday that had a very faint line. Any ideas what this could be?

I would retest because when a miscarriage happens those numbers drop to 0 significantly fast. Like within days. It can take up to 4 weeks. But, if one was blank and now this one, she could be pregnant as we are very fertile after having a baby. That's why doctors recommend waiting 6 weeks to have sex after giving birth. I heard it so many times women going back in for their 6 week check up and being pregnant again.

@spookylyn, her doctor did an ultrasound the 18th and everything was clear.

@caseyann19 no it wouldn't but she could do a digital and then a blood test. But request a qaunt not a qaulative. There 2 different BLOOD TEST. The qaunt will actually measure the number of the pregnancy hormone in her body but the qualitive comes back as a simple yes or no

Evaporation line maybe? Have her retest in a few days.
