This is me and my youngest yesterday morning. For the past 13 months she has been exclusively breastfed, and has also slept in our bed with us, nursed to sleep every night. See that crib to the left? We put it there for her to sleep in (side cared to our bed), so she could have her own space. Months and months later and the only person who's remotely slept in or near it is me (aside from her falling asleep in it for a very minimal amount of time, lol.) 😂 I hear people all the time tell me I should stop breastfeeding now that she is 1 years old, and that I really need to break this "bad habit" of her bed sharing with us. Or that I should night wean, and move her to her own room so that she won't wake so frequently in the night looking for me for comfort. It's hard to just nod my head at people who make these comments, because I could never imagine stopping any of this, especially because people say I should. Why would I want to move her into her own room and let her CIO? So that I can teach my children that when they're in need of love, comfort, support, that no one is going to come give them that? So that eventually they just stop crying because they know nobody will come? Why would I want to stop breastfeeding my baby when breastmilk is one of the best gifts I can be giving my child? Whether for comfort, food, support, or any other reason, if she wants to nurse to feel happy and comforted, you best bet that's what I am going to do. I don't care if I have to wake up 10 times a night, 2 times, or not at all. If she needs me, I will be there. To me none of those are a bad habit, the only bad habit I see is trying to unnaturally try to force my kiddos into doing stuff that will come on their own with time. I know this won't last forever, pretty soon she will be grown and want her own bed, her own space, she'll decide she will no longer need to nurse, and she will eventually start sleeping through the night. And when those moments come, I will encourage her and be supportive in a million other ways. But until then I will breastfeed, I will bed share, and I will always make sure when she cries, wakes, or needs me I will be there to feed, comfort and love her. 👶🏼👶🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼👣👣😊😊😍😍🤩🤩🤱🏽💪🏽🎀🎀🎀💌💌💖💖💕👨👩👧👧

I wish I was strong as you 😭 I have been dying to break Damien of bed sharing. I love feeling his warmth at night, but I am oh so tired of the aching joints. 😬

@dell_jonathan, omg yes! My son has started throwing these fits in his sleep if I don’t have him in the middle where he’s touching me and his dad so I end up stuck sleeping on one side ALL night long pressed against the wall. My body is so tired 😭
