Okay so QUESTION with a lot of thought and minimum back story (because no one wants to read all of that 🤣)
My bf and I have been together for about a year. I have a 5 year old, he has no kids. (He's been hinting, so we'll probably be engaged soon lol) we're basically "married" at this point anyways. Families combined, the whole 9.
So my boyfriend mentioned that he wants a child the other day (I think this came up because he just turned 39 this month so maybe it's on his mind), but I could tell it's near and dear to him by the way he was talking. Like he wants one 6 years ago lol
I'm 100% comfortable with having his child but we've constantly talked about waiting. Am I selfish to make him wait until marriage? 🤔

No not selfish at all but also don’t rush to get married just to have a baby. He’s probably rushing cause of his age he’s probably thinking I’m never gonna have a baby. You’re not being selfish at all.

@boymomx3, yeah the marriage is definitely not being rushed. We live as if we are married (shared responsibility, finances, etc) but we're not even engaged yet because we've both been married before and aren't rushing it.
But yeah with the baby it's not that I don't want one or anything. (And my daughter wants a sister lol) it's just idk about timing.

@rese, I completely understand my husband and I were like that when my oldest was 5, we started dating again (dated in high school) when he had just turned 5 he had no kids of his own then once he saw what it was like to have a “child” he wanted his own and I always said I wanted to wait until we got married we just knew we were gonna marry each other. Life happened and in ended up getting pregnant in 2014 we got married when I was 7 months pregnant. Sometimes timing is everything lol
