How did you feel the week after having baby vaginally? If we get induced on Friday my husband will have to leave state for a training on the following Monday for only a week. If it ends in c section he definitely won’t be going.

You’re not gonna want him to go that soon, because if you have the baby on Friday you most likely won’t be going home until Sunday or Monday and after having the baby it’s very hard to move around much,
When I had my oldest her and I fell asleep for an hour and I had to call my husband to literally come help me sit up because I was stuck laying down my entire body locked up on me!

I wanted to do everything for myself....I simply couldn’t. So if he has to go you should have someone with you. Even if u can, you probably shouldnt.

I was induced and had a natural successful vbac with my daughter. I felt great the next day. I was walking fine and minor pain. My second birth was a csection and it the recovery part was hell, I definitely needed my SO there.

I’ve never had a vaginal birth, my first csection was horrible. The pain was excruciating, my second csection was a week ago and I was up and taking a shower, walking the next day. We did have to stay in the hospital for three days, I do agree with all the ladies on here saying you won’t want him to leave that early.. your going to need all the help you can get.

Getting induced on Friday doesn't guarantee the baby comes Friday. I know plenty of people who were induced and the baby still didn't come for two or three days. But yes, even with a vaginal birth you'll be in the hospital for a day or two, and when you get home you're supposed to take it easy because you will have the gaping wound left by the placenta. So if he definitely has to go, make sure you have someone around to help that week. You'll be up every two hours or so to fed the baby, and having help while you're sleep deprived is very important.

You'll need to take it easy and rest. My mom was there for me thank god. If for some reason hubby cant be around, find a female family member to be with you.

You’ll need someone there to help. I would try to arrange that now if he has to leave.

IF you deliver the same day and IF the baby is released as scheduled you won’t get home until Sunday afternoon. It will be hard because you will be sore especially if you tear. You will also be sleep deprived which can be actually dangerous in some cases! Definitely ask for him if he can’t be there.

I was still hurting a week later from a vaginal delivery. I had a third degree tear, so I was still taking it easy. I had to watch what I lifted, and I still wasn’t able to drive. I had a couple of drs appointments that’s I had to get someone to drive us to make sure he was gaining weight like he should.
Is there someone else that could help, or just be around if you need the help?

Thank you ladies!!! Seeing I’m a ftm this is good to know. Unfortunately we just got stationed here in June so I don’t know many people and my family are all states away. We’ll definitely have to come up with a plan! I was thinking I could be superwoman but I’m thinking not lol

I was induced and had him with in three hours. I had a second degree tear but felt great. Just the normal exhaustion and what not.

@penelope127, made a good point. You’re not supposed to drive for a out 2 weeks I believe...? You’ll need to get to babes appts, etc.

It depends if you tear. I had a lot of second degree tearing and the pain was truly horrible, I couldn’t sit. I also had a 8 lb 6 oz little one. Pain lasted months- obviously the severity went down. BUT some women feel not nearly as bad and bounce back shortly after. Fingers crossed you don’t tear much and that I don’t this time around. And I don’t mean to scare you, just that there is a scale of pain and you don’t really know where you will fall. Plan on the worst, hope for the best, I think is the best advise.

I’m gonna be the odd one out and say you maybe just fine. With my first I tore and had quite a bit of stitching but did everything myself I was a single mom, was very young and did just fine. I was not in pain just tired, and so was my son. With my second and third I didn’t tear and was again just fine. The one thing I did have issues with was my breasts/nipples being super sore and cracked due to breastfeeding this happened with my first two but there wasn’t much anyone could have done to help me with this.
