What can I do to increase milk supply?

I'm trying mothers milk tea and fenugreek tea. Still looking for what works though, i sure wanna know.

Baby to breast.

Some supplements work, diet is important, but the best thing is just to keep bringing your baby to breast. She’s also only a week old, so they don’t need much right now.

I didn’t have much milk the first week, but now my supply has increased . The LC told me to do skin to skin with baby 30 min before feeding . Then let baby latch for 10 min on each side and then pump . I did that and it helped . I had to supplement with formula at first when I wasn’t making any or enough. Making sure the breast are stimulated every few hours (either pumping or breast feeding) helps. Also everyone has different nipples , health concerns , etc... so you may also want to ask a LC or child’s pediatrician . Don’t get discouraged the babies at one week don’t eat much . By the second week, my milk increased. At first I was afraid that I wouldn’t make any milk but I kept trying .

I agree with @littleonemorning, your baby doesn’t need much right now. But, just keep baby at breast, on demand. It might seem like that’s all you do. Well, that’s prob all you will do for the first few weeks. On Demand feeding, nature knows best. But, if that doesn’t work for you...Mother’s Milk worked great for my niece!!

I drank loads of water and ate tons of oatmeal. I got a 32 oz water jug from the hospital that I filled at least 4-5times a day. I carried it with me everywhere I went in the house, even at night when I'd go feed baby, I'd take it in with me. I still use it and baby is 7 months old now.

baby to breast is what’s best, (in my opinion) but i see your baby is only one week old at that age she doesn’t need much. Your supply will increase as she gets older.

@prettyjazz98, do whatever is best 😉. I pump majority of the time as well and feed breast milk from bottle . As long as the baby eats 😇

@expectinggreatness, yes that’s what i do 90% of the time I pump and give it to her in a bottle she’s eats about 2-3 ounces every 3 hours

I had a good supply. I just fed on demand and drank plenty of water and mothers milk tea.

Just saw she was having trouble latching, have you tried a nipple shield? I remember using that for a couple days till we got the hang of it

@addysmama81715, yes the hospital gave me a nipple shield and I ordered one online she latches for a few seconds and then just cries I much rather pump

@prettyjazz98, great ! I like pumping to because when I go back to work he will be eating mostly from a bottle anyway .

If you're exclusively pumping.... Heat and massaging helped me @prettyjazz98 relaxing and snuggling baby looking at pics while you pump.

@prettyjazz98 You said she latches but then pulls off and cries? Does she maybe have a tongue tie? I don't know much about tongue ties just throwing ideas out there?
