Up watching labor/delivery videos, got me thinking...Who all viewed the nurse bathing/cleaning baby for the first time? Not the first wipe of but the thorough cleaning when they wash babies hair, etc.
I didn't with my first, I was knocked out... don't remember anything after I had him until the next morning. My second I was bed bond from the epidural and magnesium.
My husband just got up for a few seconds and I asked him did he view it; he mumbled he doesn't remember (of course).
I remember telling him to go with the baby everywhere! because they took him out of the room to regulate sugar and insert IV ( his sugar was low).
My husband is still half sleep but he better remember later on YO', lol. So random I know. But I can't sleep. I'm thinking of a million things, all baby/delivery related.

You can request to be there for this first bath I remember they asked me if I wanted to come to this nursery to watch and help her bath my middle girl and she said people use are surprise they allow them to the nurse goes they just had to say or ask so now we just offer so they know which I thought was cool

I didn’t get to with my first because I had a c section so I had to sit in the post op room for an hr without her to make sure everything was okay with me. I sent my husband with her and told him not to let them take her out of his sight. I’m not sure if he remembers it or not.
This time I plan on not having her washed until later on so we can rub in the vernix caseosa.

In our hospitals here in Delaware they bathe the baby right on front of you.. I've seen them do it to every child

They asked if they could bathe him, then did it right at the foot at the bed. My husband helped so he could learn

The nurse washed my daughter in her little bassinet thing next to my hospital bed. They did it like hours after she was born. They had some bath wipes and wiped her down, head to toe. My daughter literally turned tomato red from crying. She did not enjoy it haha

I really hope they wash the baby in front of us. I just really want to see it

@ayaalien right me too and I want to monitor them to make sure they being gentle with my baby
