My family doesn’t either. I just get my kids a bucket and fill it with candy chips and a juice and we all watch a movie together.

Isn’t going to the events and getting candy celebrating it though? Lol I don’t understand

@sam.momx5, our church has hallelujah night every year where they play games and give a big bag of candy. Yesterday they had a fall festival at their school and tomorrow our town is having something where you go to each business to get candy. It’s better than nothing

@modom16, it’s not a Halloween event. It’s just a fall festival event. She’s not wearing a costume or anything.

Our family usually doesn’t do Halloween either this is the first time our family has planned a “fall party” which really is a Halloween party but to make it less about Halloween they’re calling it a fall party but everyone is dressing up in costumes (I’m not dressing up but all the other adults and children are) and they’ll have food and games for the kids. I am actually VERY surprised that my father in-law and mother in-law agreed to go to this, and are dressing up in costumes because usually they don’t do Halloween at all but I guess they’re doing it this year because all of the family is going, and we will be having a bonfire after we eat, and the kids play games, and I’m sure we’ll probably have bible study so I’ll be bringing my bible with me because every year me, my husband, my two sister in-laws, my brother in-law, and my mother in-law, and my father in-law, and my husbands grandparents have always had bible study every Halloween, and then me, and my two sister in-laws will do bible journaling. Usually the Bible study is held at my father in-laws house every year on Halloween and normally it’s just a small family dinner, and then bible study, and then bible journaling, and then we either watch a movie or have family time, and talk, and just spend time with eachother, and I personally like that over having a big party, and dressing up in costumes.

@amberdaugherty, That does sound exciting. That’s usually how our church is. We have games, food and give the kids candy so they won’t feel left out when they go to school and see the other kids with candy. And then the adults have bible study. But now they take them to the bowling alley and play games and stuff and then give them candy which is ok for me because I do my own bible studying every night. I haven’t celebrated Halloween since I was 5 every since my grandma explained it to us. I have nothing against anybody else doing it. Just not me lol

@momofkem_sam, Yeah my husband stopped doing Halloween when he was very young too because his parents realized that it was celebrating the devil and I haven’t celebrated Halloween since I was 11 I mean I still went to Halloween parties because my mom would make me go because they don’t see anything wrong with it but after I got married when I was 18 I completely stopped going to Halloween parties because I was no longer forced to go, my inlaws and myself don’t have anything against people who do celebrate Halloween it’s just we usually don’t do anything to celebrate Halloween we put focus on God on Halloween.

@amberdaugherty, That’s exactly how my family is. But like you said some people don’t see a problem with it. To each is own. But as for my household it’s unacceptable lol
