So this is going to be a kind of long post. Yesterday I went into the dentist to get a cavity refilled because my previous dentist didn’t do it right. So when the dentist had the drill out and was drilling my tooth he accidentally went into my lip. I didn’t notice at first because I was numb, but then I started to feel the pain and screamed “ow!” So the doctor starts apologizing up and down and he feels really bad and he debates giving me stitches. At the time I didn’t know how bad it was because I was numb and I couldn’t feel much. I just told him it was ok and he finished the tooth and I left. Once I got to the car where my husband was I looked at it in the mirror and it’s BAD. It’s a deep hole in my lip and the whole upper part of my mouth was sagging down. I started to cry because it was worse than I thought. My mother is telling me I should sue the dentist and a lot of people I know are saying he should pay for medical expenses. What do you guys think? I’m not the type of person to get mad at someone like that because I know it was an accident but maybe something should be done??
@kianna_, I didn’t decline the stitches actually, sorry if I put it like i did in the post, he actually decided it would heal better without them. And i don’t think I’ll sue either. I feel like that would be kind of extreme lol but maybe just have him pay for medical expenses
@lii94, @owenjacesmama3, thanks for the advice! I think I’ll at least get him to pay for any medical expenses I’ll have
And if your working id tell hin he needs to pay your wage for the days of work you will be missing cause of it
@floralfairy, he’s young, but he’s also my sons dentist and he’s usually really good. My mouth is still really swollen today and hangs down a little 😞
