Have any of you mommas taken the flu shot ?

@xxoceanbabexx, because I don’t think it’s a helpful vaccine. I personally think it’s useless.

@xxoceanbabexx, to each their own I guess. I’ve never gotten it. Neither have my parents, siblings, family etc. but I’m not going to get it just because someone tells me I should. Idk. I don’t think it’s necessary in my opinion. But again, to each their own.

Soon lol my 8yr old and his 16year old already has. We're are doing it because i'm not having a sick baby if i can help it my mom already died from it and my son has a weak immune system im going out helps him

@gummybear728, yes but the immunity is cumulative. So if you get vaccinated against strain A and then in 5 years strain A comes around again you are still safe. So every year that you get it you add another strain to your protection. If you’ve got 10yrs of flu shots you’re protected against 10 common strains. That’s why the Spanish flu killed lots of young healthy people and older people survived (which you would think would be opposite) but those older people had been exposed years before and had immunity.

@xxoceanbabexx, but you understand that there are many of flu strains out there. Over a hundred. When you get the flu shot, you aren’t protecting your body from all of them. Your protecting yourself from 1 out of 144 strains. What’s the point.

I didn’t. I never have and most likely never will. The flu shot only protects you from one strain of flu while there are many flu types out there. So why get it?

Yes. About two weeks ago our whole little family went and got one. We do every year. I also got my TDAP about a month ago. Husbands and daughters is still good

The vaccine in shot form is a dead vaccine. So you cannot get sick from the shot itself. If you do get sick it’s a different strain or you were already sick when you got it. We all got the vaccine.

Had mine at 31 weeks.. first one ever! I was worried but it went well!

Week before last 11 out of the 15 people I work with were all out with the flu, and then 5 out of the 7 kids in my daughters daycare class have all been out with the flu but she’s just fine.
