The first time I held my daughter after she was born, she looked up at me and smiled. I kid you not…my hours-old newborn looked me directly in the eyes and smiled at me.

It was as if she was saying, “oh, so THERE you are!” I think my heart literally melted into a puddle. <3

We mamas feel such a connection to our babies when they are inside us. Every time they smile at us after they’re born, that connection only grows deeper. A smile is so powerful!
