Has anybody taking the prenatal birthing classes? Were they worth it? The classes here are all booked up until after my due date so I'm looking for another alternative or is it something I shouldn't worry about?

Many people don't need them but I personally enjoyed them for my first child. I especially enjoyed that they were specific to my hospital. But if you can't attend I'd recommended watching YouTube videos about the stages of labor and what to expect.

I never did it im 18 and i didnt have an issue with not being able to stay calm plus your ob delivering the baby help you through tell you how to breath etc.

You can ask if they do them online. I know that's what my place does if it's all full

I didn't do any classes for either deliveries. I was able to stay calm and breathe .. plus the nurses help you if need be.

I took them for my first child and found it was pointless

I took Hypnobabies classes and loved them but that’s really only if you are dedicated to drug-free birth and very open minded about hypnosis and other “crunchy mama” concepts lol. And I still ended up being induced and getting an epidural. But it was still very helpful otherwise

I did take the prenatal classes with my SO but I found they were more helpful to him than me. When it came to the actual birth I didn’t even think of a word that was said there 😂 you just have to do what works for your body. I have learned a lot from family, however. I was the first of my generation so I have been around a lot of babies and pregnancy so maybe that played a role as well.
