So I’m clueless to this whole RSV and not letting people kiss your babies. I completely agree with not letting people kiss babies. But I have a few questions hopefully y’all can answer.....
Is it safe for mom and dad of baby to kiss the baby?
How long/old does baby need to be before it’s safe?
I’ve had fever blisters before and I’m not to kiss my baby?
What are some more information I should know so I can better understand and let people know the rules to my baby!
Yes I’m thinking of making a list of rules for people when they visit. I’m already 100% with you will wash your hands and not smoke around my baby at all!

Babies don’t just get RSV from kissing.....my son was a premie and almost died from RSV, and it’s wasn’t from kissing. We were actually told to “be prepared to make arrangements” for him that’s how dire his case was. Our son stopped breathing from a build up of mucus in his bronchial tubes and he wasn’t able to cough. Infants who are premature are considered at highest risk and those under 4 weeks of age. RSV starts off as a common cold, and therefor if you or someone you know has a cold you shouldn’t kiss your baby but it’s not the only way it’s spread.
Fever blisters are a herpes simplex virus (1) you should not kiss anyone during an active outbreak infant, child or adult 😊

I've known babies to pass away from someone kissing there baby with mouth sores/blisters I dont advise anyone to be kissing baby on the mouth or anyone with sores at all including mother and father

Definitely wash hands and sanitize no one that is or have been smoking will hold my child if I smell cigarettes it's a no hold goal..and no one recently sick

Mom and dad are 100% ok to kiss as long as you don’t have any sores in or around your mouth. I wouldn’t let anyone else kiss until baby has at least had first round of shots. They help build the immune system, not just for what they’re introduced to with the vaccines

I asked about this vaccination and they said they only give it to preemie babies but mine technically doesn’t qualify because she wasn’t preemie enough.. if that makes sense.

You can pass the herpes virus without having any symptoms. It’s rare but can happen. Newborns can die from contracting it. So it’s probably more safe to to kiss baby’s head or places away from its face for the first little while.
