Canceled my food stamps right before Michael was born because we would have to base it off my boyfriends income and he makes to much would have never worked and I didn't want him to get stuck paying child support if I just kept it active and didn't use his income and I just called on it and have my full balance on there. Do they gice you one last balance before it gets canceled?? Does anyone know??

Yes they’ll give you your last month before it’s canceled depending on what day you called. We do that in the winter because my husband is on unemployment we call the month before he goes back and they’ll cancel it so we don’t get an over payment notice

@jenny955 hun if your not legally married and only getting food stamps and not cash from the welfare your boyfriend wouldn't have to pay child support he would only have to pay if you received cash. And since your not married your considered a single mom so technically you don't have to report his income and he doesn't have to be on your case either because your not married. Just food for thought
