My best friend recently got a kitten. She has a little girl almost a month old. She posted on Facebook about her new family member and got bashed for getting a kitten with a baby in the house. She's very careful, the kitten isn't allowed in the babies room when shes in the crib and they keep a close eye on the kitten when the baby is awake. But people are acting like she's decided that she wants the kitten to steal the babies breath or something? She even posted. (Yes, I'm aware of what people say about cats stealing a baby's breath. She's not allowed where the baby is sleeping and we keep a very close eye on her. The baby and cat won't be alone together) and people still won't leave her alone. Why do people have to be so rude? Her baby is safe. The kitten is well looked after. I had three cats when Henry was born and obviously he's fine. We paid attention to what the cats were doing. It's not that hard.

We had 2 cats before my son was born. And we still have them.

That’s a myth. Cats very seldom will sit on a baby’s face. It’s rude for people to do that. I have a pit and was asked when I had my daughter if he would be going to a new home. When i said no people acted as if I said I’d let him eat her for dinner. 🙄
People should mind their business.

Me personally would never have a cat with a baby. Cats are all over the furniture where the baby will be and me personally don't think thats ohkay. But there's nothing wrong with ger having the kitten as long as it won't harm the baby. I had a pitbull when I was pregnant and we didnt have to rehome him till my daughter was 4months due to where we lived and everyone asked what I was gonna do with him since they are aggressive and I always replied what are you gonna do with your other kids if you have more. You teach the animals what's Ohkay and what's not if it's still a kitten it can be trained not to go in the babies bed and what not

I don’t personally have cats but I have friends who do. I left my son in a room sleeping , a cat ran in there and tried to sniff him but I stopped it . As long as you don’t let them in the room with the baby I dont see why there’s an issue ??? Unless there’s a severe allergy.

I have a cat. And he’s best friend with both my boys. I don’t think any animal should be left alone with a child unattended, but some people strongly think that old wives tales are real. 🤷♀️

I worry way more about our dog than I ever would our cats. 🤷🏼♀️Our cats want nothing to do with our kids.
