Thoughts on taking a child to see a scary movie? A cousin of mine took her six year old to see the new Halloween movie today and his dad posted saying she brought him home absolutely terrified. She couldn't get a babysitter and just decided to take him with her. No WAY I would do this to my kid. His dad posted about his son being afraid Micheal was in his closet, and that he won't sleep, keeps crying after every little noise. The poor kid is terrified, I feel so bad for him!

I’m surprised the movie theater attendants even allowed him to go in..even with a parent! Poor kid. 😔

As long as there's parental permission I guess they couldn't stop her? There really should be a policy for taking children like that into movies like that.

The policy is common sense. Unfortunately some people completely lack it. That poor child. Sounds like mom is pretty selfish - couldn't wait to see a stupid movie and terrified her child in the process.

Honestly it depends on the kid 🤔
I remember watching Halloween and child's play at that age and I loved them. My grandma even let us watch village of the damned. I grew up watching horror movies.
That said
I wouldn't take my 6 year old. She's a very sensitive child. She was scared of the jungle book remake but was fine with Jurassic world 🤦

I wouldn't take one that young. Poor boy. My mom said her dad took her to see the exorcist when she was 7 and up till she was an adult she had nightmares and was scared of the movie. We are big fans of horror but i still think that's too young now my son is 8 and can watch some without being scared. Im not taking him to a theater to watch though. I want to say i was 5 when i seen childs play and yep i was petrified at the time. Watched it at home

Holy cow, that seems selfish of your cousin. He is too young for stuff like that! Poor baby is now terrified. I can’t do movies like that, and I’m an adult who can distinguish between reality and fiction.
