FTM - hopefully I’ll go into labor naturally! 🤞🏻 Doctor did schedule an induction for November 14th if I don’t go before then 😩

Read your options, if you don't go into spontaneous labor you can still opt for a natural induction! That's what we had to so as he wasn't born until 41w3d.

@heilwife317, I’m torn on that. I really don’t want to be induced but she said that the longer you go over the higher the chance of stillborn. My sister had a stillborn and I’m totally horrified of that happening to me.

@sara672014 I can tell you from personal experience I will never hit 41 weeks again. Our baby was born safely but had a low temperature we had to regulate and low blood platelets count causing him to be more susceptible to sickness early on...which led to him getting an upper respiratory infection when we were in the hospital. The low blood platelets also meant when he got his circumcision he bled more. When they removed the gauze he bled a lot and so we had to stay an extra y hrs for monitoring into total he stayed an extra 24 hrs for EKGs, xrays, blood draws, and temperature regulation. The OB said sometimes this just happens but 2 nurses talking to each other in my room said that it could be because I went over. I got really upset since I asked for that and me tioned it to OB. She said the placenta wasn't tested so there wasn't any proof of that. By appearances the placenta was still fine, and she got pissed the nurses said this, especially in my room.

So long story short not sure if all that was caused by going over but that has rested in the back of my brain every time he was having issues or another test. So I will hit 40 weeks and a few days happily but will do a natural induction then, I won't wait too long...especially knowing a natural induction is possible (which initially I didn't research until that last week when my doula told me induction doesn't automatically mean pitocin or an epidural).

@heilwife317, that’s good to know! I will mention it at my next appointment. My OB did say she doesn’t like people going much over their due date due to numerous complications that can arise but her main concern is stillbirth. I pretty much only hear bad induction stories, so I’m hoping to avoid that and just go naturally around my due date.

@sara672014 my natural induction was perfect. CRB and then water breaking were the 2 forms we used, in that order. :) I had no medications at all, technically 28 hours of labor (but 9 was the CRB and I slept the entire time no pain or anything, so more like 19) and though it sounded long literally NO pain for me. It was an amazing experience. I didn't even realize his head was half out when I was pushing and started talking about something funny I had thought of...and they were going no push now. Lol :)
