My son had his 15 month old check up today and the pediatrician referred him to Help Me Grow for speech delay. I feel at 15 months it is still young, but I did have a few concerns to why I agreed because Liam isn’t pointing when he wants something and doesn’t understand simple commands like when I ask him to bring me toys or to come to me he doesn’t interact with me. He only babbles when he wants to but for the most part he grunts and cry’s when he wants something or tries to “talk.” Do you guys think it’s to early for early intervention or should I wait till he’s two?

My daughter was in alta speech tharapy when she was about 2 and then at 3 they cut her off because the preschools n schools have speech programs. I feel like it helped a little but having her in a center where she can play and interact with lots of other kids her age helps a lot I know ur child is still little for that but once they get in school or daycare they will probly start talking more or interacting then too :)

I feel like it’s a bit early. I’d probably hold off until 18 months because a lot can change between now and then. He is still just a baby.

In the end, it's helping him get on track.

Some babies are just late bloomers but it’s never to early
