anyone have the copper IUD?
I’m really considering getting it. I did the no no thing and googled it beforehand, which kind of scared me away from it after hearing all the horror stories. 😬

@mombie, my periods where heavy and the first day was miserable with cramps without birth control, so I’ll take it being two days longer with the other two lessened.. I don’t do the hormonal birth control because I struggle with my weight as is and the hormonal birth controls I’ve been on in the past I gained weight no matter how much I exercised and how healthy I ate, it was horrible. So it was try this and if not then just be extra careful.

@kaywray, wow that’s awesome! i barley have a period and like very little cramps without any birth control i’m kind of wondering what it would do to me then because i’ve never experienced really bad period cramps before 🤔

I have a copper iud currently. And it’s great for me. Instead of having increased bleeding and stronger cramps during my period I have less bleeding and almost no cramps. But my period now last 7 days instead of 5. I have no complaints about mine right now, I do know a couple women in my personal life who have had one and hated it. Just depends on your body just like with every birth control.

I had it. It was cool till it started to shift then I got it out asap my doctor said he could reposition it but I didn't trust it. Now with the risks of it moving ans puncturing something me personally don't recommend any IUD

I had both and my experience with copper was a million times better. I’m someone who is incredibly sensitive to hormonal birth control. I also have a smaller uterus which is why my mirena went through my uterus at the time of insertion. I only had it taken out because it was making me nervous after my previous experience with mirena.
