How old is He? Our daughter already had her 1st dental appointment at 11 month's because she already had 14 teeth but I don't brush or wipe hers and I don't let her sleep with a bottle ever but her dentist was impressed with how healthy and white her teeth are. Don't sweat the small stuff.

@godspromises2018 He's 8 months. He just won't sleep without his bottle. I try wiping them down but it wakes him completely and he won't go back down without it. My daughter has a cavity on her front tooth and her pediatrician said it was from putting her to sleep with her bottle as a baby. Her dentist isint doing anything to it since it's on a baby tooth and it will fall out eventually anyway and it doesn't cause her pain. If they were to take it out he would have to put her out because she hates her mouth messed with. I just don't want the same thing to happen to my son. I brush them in the morning and wipe them down after he eats I just hope that's enough.

@catfish2220, have you tried and binkys? I know with my youngest it’s just like comfort nursing. But your going to want to break that habit ASAP. Cause like you said, it can cause their teeth to rot. But you seem to be taking the right steps!

Can you switch the bottle to water instead of milk? My son used to sleep with a bottle before bed and wouldn’t let us brush after, so we started brushing right before the bottle, and that seemed to help. He has no cavities and has been seeing a dentist since he was 4 months old

@littleonemorning I've tried the binky he hates it lol. Thats how we ended up getting my daughter to sleep without her bottle but He just chews on it a minute and spits it out.. I tried getting him to sleep without the bottle but he just screams and cries and it breaks my heart feeling like I can't comfort him.

@catfish2220, can you just give him a bottle before bed? It seems like it’s going to be one of those things that you just can’t give it, maybe try other things like rocking him, singing and other things he can suck on. But right now, it going to be hard. When I was nursing my youngest always fell asleep when he was nursing because it was comforting.

@lizibear84 I haven't tried water but I definitely will tonight. I'm going to schedule him a dentist appointment. His pediatrician said it's basically pointless untill all of his teeth are in but I'm going to anyway. It won't hurt for them to look and maybe it'll help him get used to going. His teeth just came in so theres nothing wrong with them yet but I want to make sure I take the right steps to keep them healthy.

@catfish2220, I was told to bring them as soon as teeth start coming in. All they do at his biyearly is check them out, count them, then brush and give us a new toothbrush. J loves his dentist

@catfish2220, He also loves brushing his teeth! We also found out at the dentist that he has a severe lip tie, buchal ties, and a tongue tie, which explains why he wasn’t able to breastfeed. He’s monitoring it for us to see if/when they need to be snipped

@littleonemorning when he was teeny tiny I would rock him and bounce him on an exercise ball to get him to sleep because he had a hard time sleeping at all at first and it really worked. I haven't done it since he was about 4 months old so maybe I'll try that again with water in the bottle instead of formula and see if he falls asleep. If I sing to him he thinks I'm playing and gets all excited and wants to be up lol. My SO said he was going to get him a white noise machine to see if that helps him fall asleep too. I'll see if the water and ball work tonight. Fingers crossed

@lizibear84 I'm going to call the dentist today and schedule him an appointment. Hopefully your little one won't need them snipped. That has to suck! My daughter loves brushing her teeth and she's really good about it so I'm hoping my son is the same. He doesn't mind when I do it but if i do it after he's already asleep he wakes up and just wants to play then he's fussy from not sleeping. He's been on a sleep schedule since he was two months old and if it gets messed up he's super fussy.

@catfish2220, just remember, he doesn’t need a lot of water. I would offer barely an ounce. Water isn’t really needed until after 1.

And also try to switch to water instead of milk.

Like before bed make sures hes nice and full and then lay him down with some water

@girlmom. I've only tried two different kinds and he rejected both of them. I'll go to Wal-Mart and see what they have. I'm going to give him a bottle before his bath tonight and try an oz of water instead of giving him his formula when it's bedtime. Is it okay if the water is warm? He likes his bottles warm.

Room temp might be better. I say this cause i feel like warm water would set his tummy.

But hey it diesnt hurt to try. You are the mama, you know what's best.😊
