So my friend told me she told our boss yesterday I have been having pains and her response was “I just need her for these next 3 days then she can have the baby.” I understand we’re short staffed right now but that comment was insensitive to me. I worked this far along because I don’t mind my job much and I feel bad that we have ridiculous workers who didn’t show up and ended up quitting so she has to figure out what to do, but I could have stopped working long ago. She’s really cool and all, But her comment was not needed. I have been in really bad pains still working and plan to go back once I feel good enough before 2 months.

Sounds like she’s just trying to be quaint and silly.
My bosses and coworkers used to say that exact line to me ALL the time when I was pregnant. I had my son in the dead of winter and every time it snowed, my MIL told me to cross my legs.
Try not to take it too seriously. I know people aren’t funny when they think they are, but that baby will come when it will and she will just have to deal

Same.... I’m having all these issues and probably won’t be back after the 16th due to being delivered and my boss literally gots me working 60+ hour week this week 🤦🏽♀️ we’re short staffed also but she’s up’d my hours and just doesn’t care if my body can’t take the lifting nomore 😡 bosses can be such dicks sometimes

I'm still working too, my replacement quit last week after training her for 6 weeks 😶 they make jokes all the time about me having to bring in a playpen and not just my baby but my toddler too.. I'm like, okay guys jokes on you 😂 They also make jokes about just not having the baby this month (it's harvest our busiest month). I just take it with a grain of salt, it's a great business and I know they appreciate that I'm still working. Just be proud of yourself! it's no easy feat to keep going like this and you're doing an amazing job. you'll get to rest soon with baby ❤

@laniejay, What makes me think she’s not joking is that whenever someone calls off she tries to make me come in because she doesn’t want to come in. We’ll both have off and she’ll legit be like “I don’t want to go in today so you should go in.” I usually do because I don’t mind it but I have been having too many pains lately

I think they should be thankful your even still going to work the last two months of pregnancy is painful and your tired etc ... hope it gets better for ya:)

@mandieginton, Thank you! And yess, I already told her after these 3 days I’m going. I’m going to try to be back after the 6 weeks the doctors tell you to rest but for now it’s too much.
