So I need some ideas... my boy twin has been nearly inconsolable the last 5 days (they are two months old tomorrow) the only thing that calms him down is being swaddled, but if you unswaddle him even after a nap it is a very short time before he has to be swaddled again to stop screaming... this is new for him, he has always needed more attention, but things that would calm him down no longer do... such as walking outside, looking at lights and ceiling fans, comfort nursing, sitting in the infant carrier... etc... he does have a pediatrician appointment Friday for his 2 month appointment, but I'd love to get us both a little comfort before that, especially since his twin sister needs my attention too. He doesn't have a fever, but I do think he may have a belly button hernia could that cause the screaming? He doesn't scream when he eats, and he can lay on his stomach in good moments and play on his playmat. He rejects his pacifier unless he is swaddled, but noms his hand unless he is swaddled but cries if you offer him more food so trying to eat his hand isn't hunger? I thought maybe teething but I know 2 months is super early. Just a bit of background info, he is really hard to get to nap but does this screaming even after good naps. He doesn't sleep restfully the second half of the night, makes a ton of grunts and groans, I can help if I pick him up and rock him bit continues after 20 minutes of being put down again.. being elevated doesn't help, and it's not hunger... he was on a c-pap when he was born for swallowing a lot of fluid, but no nicu but we didn't give birth at a hospital that had a nicu so I'm not sure if it is cause he didn't need it. He is the 99% percentile across the board for height, weight and head circumference, and loves to eat. He does have thrush, but has been on meds on for it for longer than this really rough patch (like I mentioned he normally needs a lot of attention, but used to be able to soothe the ways I mentioned before)... any ideas mommas? Either things to try to soothe him or things to ask the pediatrician about or ideas what may be wrong? Or anyone go through the same thing??? I feel so bad for him and is hard to hear him scream through his whole bath when he never used to
I was thinning gas too. Or maybe reflux. That’s kind of what it sounds like to be: I don’t have any experienced with either so I hope u can get some answers
