How Can I Get More Help with Parenting and Sleep?
I am so tired of being the only one actually taking care of our kids. I love and appreciate all that my husband does for us but just for once I would like to go to bed at a decent time and actually get 8 hours of sleep. I know he has to get up early but I do too and I got to get some school work done. How am I supposed to do that with very little sleep. Just wish he would be more of a parent and not just the financial provider ,live in booty call, or the enforcer of rules/what I ask them to do. Might sound mean but that is basically how things are going lately. 😥😥

Mine is the same way. When he comes home from work he will be all lovey dovey when he walks in oh you miss dada but I put her next to him and he ignores her after playing with her for a few seconds rolls over and goes to sleep.

I can say though he will try to get her to nap with him which is great the 2/10 times it actually works.

@mommy060817 I wish he would get one of the kids to lay with him but he doesn't even try. He will just lay them down and if they get up he'll be like okay here they don't want to sleep. Like really. You have to actually try.

Right I get that too. I can't say it's a man thing because some men do actually do the work. My sister is like this whereas her boyfriends, husbands, whoever do all the work

@mommy060817 my husband comes from a family where his dad is a truck driver and was gone a lot but he was home he just sat around and his mom did everything. Even to this day it's like that. I don't how many times I've told him thats not how our family is going to be. Especially since he comes home everyday. It's just annoying that he hasn't yet gotten the fact that our family is not his family or mine.

Well just keep reminding him its takes time and lol TRAINING. I tell my husband that everyday. His mom feeds his dad same time everyday always makes him call her on lunch and on his way home. I'm like I am not feeding you nor am I going to let you lay in bed while I do everything with these kids. He has changed a little in 13 years but its a VERY SLOW process.

@ibarranancy5 thats all I do. I basically have to beg him to do his part as a parent. Like i dont want to ask for help because hes not a helper. He's their dad. He should be doing it no matter what anyways. And I am showing pretty strong signs of PPD. Im pretty sure I've had it a while but its starting to affect me physically. He just doesn't understand.

Believe me I know the feeling, mine is laying in bed all nice and cozy while I am putting three kids to sleep. They act like work is the end of their responsibility
