My hubby is an alcoholic

My mom is an alcoholic. We struggled to have a relationship growing up. I was always a burden and made sure I knew..I pretty much did my own thing starting at 12. I ended up moving out at 16 when she choked me until I passed out. We are now very close as adults but it took a lot..it actually took me at 20 punching her in the face for her to realize she had no power over me. She watches my children at my house if they are sick but the lengths I go to to make sure she doesnt drink is ridiculous. I have to go through her bag, her car, mark are liquor bottles to make sure shes not drinking in my house.

She says she appreciates how tough I am about it because it helps her slow down and she wishes she watched my kids more but I dont trust her to do that. She only watches them once every 2 weeks and only if they can't go to school and I can't work from home.

My dad is an alcoholic and has been my entire life. You can talk to me any time you want to. I get it, I promise. I have a PTSD service dog now because of issues I have coping with it, especially night terrors.
