My baby was on enfamil gentlease but he was throwing up with it so they switched him to enfamil nutramigen and hes throwing up a ton more with it like alot hes been on it since 9/20 what should i do?

Maybe try enfamil A.R? That's supposed to reduce the spitting up a lot but if that doesn't work then maybe switch to similac brand? Maybe that'll be better, idk though because I've only used enfamil
I actually had the same issue with my daughter and we put her on Enfamil AR, and she eats better, doesn’t spit up as much.0
Also to add, my son was horrible on Similac but did great on Enfamil Gentlease. Definitely worth checking out other brands!
Have you tried gripe water at all? It’s natural and newborns can even have it. Id at least give it a try!
I hate to have to keep getting his formula changed but now it seems like hes throwing up more then he actually eats and im afraid if this keep happening he want gain his weight
@unicorn_mama, yes i have didnt know it helps with the throwing up i was just using it when he gets his hiccups or real fussy
@jrmama sometimes you just have to keep switching until you find the right one, I know it's hard but once you find it your life will be a lot easier
@mrscecco316, see they have me adding rice cereal which i thought wasnt safe but they say it suppose to help keep his milk down

@jrmama, AR has rice starch added, but it’s a fine ground starch instead of the cereal which can clog bottles and impose a choking hazard, so AR is similar to what they’re suggesting just safer.
@jrmama, yeah that Enfamil already has added rice starch, so you don’t have to worry about adding any, and when you actually make a bottle of it, you can tell it’s thicker but nothing that would hurt little one.
@fakoffyeh, yes he was on medicine for it doesnt help and the doctor actually told me straight up it wouldnt help he will just have to grow out of it so i stop giving it to him because he was still spitting up
It sucks but sometimes you just have to keep switching. Just keep calling them every time you’re concerned! You have every right to worry about your baby throwing up formula. They should be helping you figure one out that will work
@jrmama, seriously my daughter was really bad at spitting everything up, and they told me she might have reflux, but to try that formula first, and it worked. We didn’t have to worry about reflux, but that still might be an issue with your little one, so when you talk to your ped, make sure to ask about reflux.
@mrscecco316, they had him on zantac it wasnt working at all so i stopped giving it to him and the doctor had told me straight up he may have to just grow out of it the medicine isn’t actually gonna stop him from spitting up as long as hes not fussy or in pain then hes good which he isnt he laughs like everything is fine

@fakoffyeh, no they just said as long as hes gaining weight and not in pain when he does it which hes not then he will grow out of it , he said sometimes babies stomach are not fully developed to keep it all down
Have you tried pace feeding and different bottles? It's not always the formula. He could be swallowing a lot of air causing him to spit up.
I hope u figure it out soon. I went through the same thing and it does get easier but definitely let your dr no wats going on

@jrmama hey my comment about breast feeding was not to offend you at I myself chose not to breasts feed because it was painful but I could have I too had to change my sons formula that girl jumped the gun getting offended because I'm basing this off my personal experience.

@jrmama, my first used to spit up a lot (she was breastfed), and the doctor didn't seem too concerned. She said the baby's spit up could cover the whole top of her laptop, and it would be the equivalent of one ounce. Basically it looks like more than it is. DD grew out of it after a few months, but she spit up after every feed no matter what tricks I tried.
I hope you get it figured out, or this stage passes quickly to help ease your mind.

@jrmama my baby had to switch formula 4 times. Her pediatrician was determined to get it right. She was even given a stomach ultrasound. The formula that finally worked for her is Similac Sensitive. I was also advised to sit her up for at least 30 mins after eating or on an incline.
Ask for an ultrasound if possible to rule out any problems with his tummy.
Have you tried Gerber..I had to switch my dd formula twice. I tries Gerber gentle and it worked awesome!!!! They also have a Gerber soothe.
