I believe one of my biggest strengths/weakness is a primary reason for being able to create a successful business. Creatively I’m VERY quick. I do not dwell on ideas for very long before putting them into motion. I think it, I like it, I make it and I put it out into the world. There is little collaboration, due diligence or critical thinking involved.

For the most part it’s a trait that I’m grateful to have. I’m okay with putting out content etc that I know isn’t perfect! I love that I’m able to put out ideas without over thinking and over stressing.

On the flip side, most ideas do not get fully thought out. Things are usually riddled with spelling mistakes and things can be chaotic and not go as planned. Quick decisions that are seen by a large audience can sometimes come with regret and embarrassment.

So, I’m not saying my extreme is the best way to perform. I’m constantly having to reminding myself to check myself.

But! Perfection is what always slows the process down. If creative perfectionism prevents you from putting your amazingness out into the world, then I think it’s just time to let go!

Let people see what you can do and then own it. It’s mistakes and all. Creativity is a skill and the more you put out the better you will get. A language cannot be learned without first stumbling over new words! Picasso made 50,000+ works of art in his life. That is an average of two per day and only a couple hundred are considered to be masterpieces.

Leave behind everyones definition of perfect. Leave behind all the insecurities that are so hard to ignore. In other words, just do it. Hit the share button and put it out into the world.
