There is something that I feel is causing stress to some people. I’ve seen it on here and other mom groups on fb. A friend of mine also was panicking due to this.
Getting cervical checks before labor (other than if medically necessary) isn’t really needed. I’m not against them per se but I don’t think a lot of women realize this. A doctor telling you at anytime other than labor that your dilated or effaced does not indicate you’ll go into labor anytime soon. A girl I work with was scared because she’s almost 37 weeks and is 3cm dilated. She thought she would go into labor early. That stress isn’t needed for a woman who is soon to have her baby. At 35 weeks I was 2cm dilated and didn’t have her until almost 40 weeks (I was induced due to preeclampsia) so don’t worry mamas. I’m Not saying don’t get them I’m just saying don’t get worried if you’re dilated or not.

I agree. My Dr told me she won't check me until 39wks or until I'm in active labor

I was dilated 3-4cm from 35 weeks til 38 weeks when I had him. I hated cervix checks they hurt like crazy

That and estimating the weight at 36 weeks. They wonder why so many woman try to self induce when they scare them thinking they’ll have a 10 lb baby if they don’t 😡
