@mortonmining haha it took a while because I started in middle school. I would get to a size and stay there a few years then gradually decided to go up from there. My guages didn't fit right during pregnancy so I had them out most of the time and they shrank... I finally started stretching them again about 3 months ago, I'm almost back up to an inch, my goal is 2inches :)

That is so crazy! I started in middle school as well but I tapered them to quickly because I was so excited to get to a bigger size so When I got to 0s I had to go back to 4s! And then stayed there foreevvveerrr. I barely got back to a 0 at the beginning of this year. 😕.

Do you taper them or use tape? 🤔.

@mortonmining I've tried alot of ways but tape has been the most effective and less damaging. I've definitely had some blowouts in my day. Tapers can do alot ig damage and weights don't stretch them evenly. With tape they have a bit more natural stretch time if you wait a few weeks before adding more tape.

Haha I was gonna sit with locks in my ears before I found out about tape! 😆. I hate using tapers! They hurt and their intimidating. I am envious of you and your big gauges lol. I like them very much, they look great! 😊💕.

@mortonmining thank you lots! Yea I thought about weights but did some research first, I've had one if my guages ripped out befire and it kinda pulled my earlobe inside out.. No other way to describe it really, so after making a big gauge out of gauze and keeping it clean and putting triple antibiotic ointment on it it did heal up nicely but I've been super careful with my ears ever since

Wow, I bet that hurt like crazy, even the gauze sticking to your ear! 😬😳. It’s crazy what we put our ears through 😅. I read that triple antibiotic ointment is bad for the ears, 🤷🏼‍♀️ I used to use it after I gauged them but now I just use dial soap.

@mortonmining i used it while it was healing to keep the gauze from sticking. Yeah it is! I iften wonder how tribal folks guage theirs out 😂

And right! They go look for sticks and make them into tapers? Or rocks for weights.?! Lol 🤔🤔😂.
