Got health visitor coming out next Thursday what do they do when they come out. I already hate…

They want to meet you and know a bit about you so they aren’t a stranger when they come after baby is born. They will want to see where baby sleeps x

@kayteamay I just panic with things lol if someone comes to my house and I didn't know they were coming i start panicking never think it's good enough even if the pillows are on the floor off the couch xx

@sarahlou.b50, I am completely the same to the point I won’t open the door if someone just randomly turns up 😂

@kayteamay before I've actually seen someone pulled up so I ran and locked my door and hid upstairs 😂 that was because I had a little bit of washing up to do and mop the floor x

I visit families all the time to support new mums and trust me the health visitor will always have seen worse! They will come out to introduce themselves, complete basic paperwork/information about you and discuss any concerns you may have they often take it as an opportunity to discuss their role, contact information and do some minor health promotion such as feeding advice xx

@casey19 I just worry about things like if my house isn't up to scratch and social gets called xx

@sarahlou.b50, from talk in the office they don’t expect show homes, if you have the basics and it’s generally normal it will be fine takes a lot for them to phone social work. Where I work they contact our service or volunteering agency to help support the family learn routines etc
