Honestly, it really helped the first three times. I got it again with my last child and it almost killed me. I actually almost died in the hospital because of it and it didn’t even work so I gave birth naturally.
I had both and my birth (not an epidural ) was so much easier on both of us. I loved being able to get up and walk right after him - and feel myself pushing.
I did natural with both kids and plan to do it again this time. It’s not for everyone and no one can give you the correct answer. Do what’s best for you. Even if you decide not to get one now, things may completely change once you’re in labor. But if you really don’t want one I say try your hardest (: the end sucks but once baby is out it just stops... (until they nurse 😂) and like someone mentioned, being able to get right up is amazing! Water helped me & walking (walking the room. Rocking. Shower. Ect)
@fishinamanda, if you really want to I believe you can! As silly as it sounds, breathing is what helps most. So many women hold their breath during contractions and it makes it so much worse. Go in with the mindset that an epidural is not an option and trust your body (:
I have done both and it's really not about preference for me, it's about tolerance. My goal is always to tolerate, second time around I just couldn't and got epidural at the last minute. My first I didn't have an option because I didn't take the required class, but either way the pain wasn't near as bad the second time around... @fishinamanda

I had the epidural best decision I've made

I’ve done it both ways.

@sammymclaughlin77, I’ve always not wanted one. So I’m praying I can stick to it

Out of 3 births, I've only had the Epi once, and that was because of my emergency c section. Other than that I go all natural

I had an epidural last year and I bet you I’ll get it again

I’ve done both. 1 with an epidural and two without. I personally like without. I felt like I had more control over my births.
