So I had to have a c-section with my son, but I’m planning on having a VBAC with the next baby. Are there any moms who’ve had a successful VBAC? What did you do to prepare? How far apart are your kids? I’m just looking for some advice to help my future baby and me be as safe as possible.
The reason for my c-section was essentially because the doctor thought I was fully dilated, but I wasn’t. So when he had me start pushing, it made what was left of my cervix swell up. He then told me he felt it would be safer to go with surgery. There were a few other things I think led up to the conclusion I got, but that’s the simple version. I know chances of a successful VBAC are lower if your c-section was because of a problem in labor, so I thought I should prepare in every way I can before I get pregnant again.

@sofie321, I don’t think my body was ready either. I was 41 weeks when they induced and I wasn’t showing any signs of labor. I was in labor that whole day, but it stopped for about 10 hours when I got an epidural. It started again the next day and I appeared ready. I definitely didn’t feel ready though. Everyone pushed for an induction and, eventually, the c-section, because they thought my baby would be really really big. He wasn’t haha. Just really long. I do know I want to wait to go into labor next time. And if I can, try not to have an epidural. I think both those things messed everything up.

My kids are 20 months apart. I had a successful VBAC. Stayed active...I even had GD. I also used evening primose oil capsules (inserted and orally). Also drank that tea ...forgot if it's called red raspberry leaf tea..? I gave birth at 41 weeks though. The reason I had a csection was because I was induced...my body was just not ready!
