I would just lend an ear for now to help her work it out until she gets more used to the idea of having the other gender and how her family dynamic will be. Once she seems more okay, then get her the gift to help push her toward excited again.

Idk what you could do for her but when I found out I was having a boy I had my heart and soul set on having a girl. I wanted a girl so bad I could just see it, well the technician said she was having a hard time with baby letting her see and when she finally could see she confidently said “girl” I was SO excited so so so so so excited. I really couldn’t believe the word “girl” came out of her mouth. Then she continued doing everything and kept checking and all of a sudden the baby moved and opened legs and BAM definitely 100% all boy and I was DEVASTATED. I shed some tears and every one could tell I was really upset but then after a couple days of thinking and looking at the ultrasound I was like “you know what idc I’m going to have a little bitty tiny baby 😍” then I was just excited to have this tiny little fragile human being to have to myself and he was so precious and peaceful.

@bubbys.mommy, oh man! I couldn’t imagine being told one and then being told the opposite (even if it was only a matter of mins.) She’s super upset because this is the same gender as her first born, and they are done after two. (For medical reasons). Bless her. She was upset when the first was the gender it was, and now she’s even more upset. I’m waiting to find out the gender of mine at birth, and now I’m hoping im having the same as her so she won’t be even more upset. It’s just sad to see a friend bummed. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I know she’ll come around. I’m thinking maybe planning a spa day for us.

@jennatess, it sucked! I’d probably feel the same way if I wanted one gender but got all of the opposite gender than I wanted! Like you said it’s totally okay to be upset! Spa day sounds fun! You guys could talk and relax and maybe she’ll feel better about it. I hope she has a easy pregnancy!

@bubbys.mommy, you’re so kind! So many people roll their eyes when I always say I was all girls. Of course I’d love a son will all of my soul, but I want what I want. 🤷🏼‍♀️.

The one good thing about living in a casino town is so many awesome spas. I’ll book us some prenatal massages and hopefully that helps her come around.

I agree with @nessaa send her a super cute outfit. I had gender disappointment until I started buying clothes 💙

I had gender disappointment with my 2nd. My mother in law went with me and tried to do lunch and pick out outfits after but I just wasnt having it. Maybe let her grieve it a few days maybe even a week. My best friend ended up taking me to get a pedicure, lunch, then we looked at baby clothes (both her and I were pregnant with the same gender) it didnt make me feel 100% ok with it because like her this is probably my last baby but I realized I had to accept it. It took me about 6 months to fully accept it so just be her ear and backbone shes going to need someone she can trust to vent to if need be

@jennatess, lots of places do locals discount! My girlfriends and I enjoy Atlantis or peppermill but I think Atlantis has more you could do being pregnant :)

@scasacca, I booked us two prenatal massages at Atlantis! I’ve been wanting to try Peppermill since they do 20% off for locals, but I just love the Atlantis spa so much I can’t get away! Ahaha
