Mommies I need your advice .

Friday I took my son to the doctor , because he wasn’t eating or drinking anything , and when he would he would cry his ass off because it would hurt his mouth or throat. Doctor said he had a red throat. Which made him be like fussy & not want him to drink or eat anything ? So prescribed my son an antibiotic but I see blisters in his mouth and hands . And he still really fussy and never drinks or eats anything . ( has a really hard time )

Switch between Tylenol and ibuprofen every round, it helps alleviate the pain better than just using one or the other. & it’s just better for little ones, my sons doctor told us to rotate whenever he needs them. Hand sanitize like crazy and just try to keep him distracted as much as possible. Maybe try getting him to eat or drink 30min after medicine. & i would go to the doctors again or a different one so he’s not taking antibiotics if he doesn’t need them. If it’s hfm it’s pointless for him to take them. I hope he feels better soon mamas 💙

Give him infant Tylenol or ibuprofen for pain and discomfort. Make sure his food is room temperature, provide cold treats to help numb pain and reduce swelling (like popsicles, ice cream, jello, apple sauce yogurt, his drinks) hope he gets well soon 💙

I literally went through the same thing with my 1 year old! Last week... he had been waking up twice throughout the night screaming!a😓 Popsicles help and a lil pedialyte.. like just 6 ounces or else he will be bouncing off the walls. I hold him and put his singing shows on. Just try to take his mind off the pain. Oh and around the clock ibprofren a must to alleviate his pain!

Oh, and when you bathe him, make sure the water is just barely warm. It’ll make his skin super sensitive to heat.

@_mommyoftres, It could take up to 7 days, maybe longer. My son had it for almost 2 weeks.

It spreads pretty much like any sickness, coughing, sneezing, etc. Also make sure you wash your hands really good after changing him because it can be in his poop for a long time. Jello, popsicles, cold drinks, smoothies. No citrus or anything spicy or anything salty. He should be feeling a lot better in a few days, but after the bumps go away, there will be a lot of skin peeling.

It's highly contagious. Make sure you wash hands good. No kissing or drink sharing.

@scream.queen, how long does it take for it to go away?

He probably won't eat because of it hurting. Offer popsicles and cold drinks. Calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream on hands. Nothing else you can do.

@blueismycolor, how does it even spread ? 😯 how does this happen 😩? What can I do to make the pain go away? Or the blisters . I’m just having a really bad meltdown . 😢

Definitely sounds like Hand Foot and Mouth. It’s spreading like crazy lately.

If there's blisters then it's probably hand foot and mouth.
