Hi guys. Im booked in to have a c section a few days before im due.. never had one before so any tips or anything diff i need to pack in my hosp bag? Im bricking it 🙈
Big granny pants I got some from primark and comfy loose trousers. I had an emergency c-section and I was up and walking 8 hours after. I’m allergic to some pain killers so could only take tramadol which made me sleepy so I took paracetamol regular for the first week and night time after that for a few weeks. A friend said she felt comfortable with a small towel on her stomach when in the car instead of the seatbelt putting pressure on. I took in my favourite shower gels and shampoos etc as it helps you feel better! Slip on slippers and lots of water! Good Luck
I had to have emergency c section and first thing I had to do was get someone to brin me BIG granny pants that come right up your belly. And trousers that are loose and high up also as you don’t want anything rubbing. X
Ah good idea thanks! I have brought a joie 2 in 1 bouncer/swing so the chair part is higher. I might buy some puppy training pads to put in my bed and chairs etc incase of leaking and not realising.. ahh so dignified 🤣🙈
I wore tena nappies for the bleeding for first 2 days. Because for the first day you're still numb and unable to walk, and they do obvs slowly encourage you to. So I found it so so helpful to know that I wasn't leaking or having to change a pad too often. Not in the hospital but once I got home, we never thought a changing table was necessary but after having a section, it was so painful to bend over the bed and change baby that we bought one second hand within a week. Just a thought x
Ah lovely thank you all! I have over the bump leggings which are currently my life 🤣 ill go underwear shopping too xxx
As others have suggested big knickers, I bought some high waisted ones from M&S and lived in my maternity leggings. Maybe just some more clothes in geberal as you may want to stay in a little longer.
If your planning to breastfeed I would recommend a button up top so you don’t have to move to much to get baby on the breast.
I stayed in my over the bump maternity leggings for a 5 weeks after my section as I couldn't stand anything on my scar xx
Big knickers you won’t want anything stat on the scar.
The same with trousers pick something that’s comfy with a waist that’s higher than your usual knicker line.
Slip on slippers it’s a little painful bending down.
Thank you you've all been a big help 😘 x
