Does anyone have a child or children with OCD? Our ped mentioned that my son is showing signs…

My daughter does the thing with the lights and doors.

@tatsandcats, part of me thinks it’s normal because it’s his way of “helping”... but it’s almost like he can’t not do it 😕

@mrssanderson, my daughter freaks out if I don’t let her turn the lights on and off but I think that’s just a toddler thing. But if she hears me open a door from another room she’ll run in and close it. But if she hears me close it she’ll run in to open it lol so I’m thinking it’s just a toddler thing. Idk about all the rest.

@tatsandcats, that’s my son too but he’ll open and then close doors. Like they always have to be closed. It’s more so the hand washing thing that made me mention everything to his ped though, not that cleanliness is a bad thing... but he’ll ball his hands into fists and won’t unclench them if he touches something he thinks is dirty. He’ll even try to pick stuff up with his hands in fists. Maybe I’m overthinking it, cos it could as well just be a toddler thing that he’s picky about but sometimes it seems extreme.

@caymarie123, my son doesn’t do that but he’s about to be evaluated for a bunch of things once our referrals come in. Our ped doesn’t think that he’s autistic but since he also has a speech delay they want to make sure we rule everything out. autism, hearing etc.

@tatsandcats, he’ll be 2 and a half next month.
