I don’t remember which one I had but I have been induced twice. One time was super easy and one time was horrible. The first time the put a pill inside of me before I went to sleep while I was in the hospital. I was in labor when I woke up. They also used pitocin and it was a pretty easy labor and delivery. The second time they just used pitocin and it wasn’t working. They then used the foley bulb which was HORRIBLE. I have never felt something that hurt so bad.
I don't know exactly what cervidil is but with my first pregnancy they used cytotec and it still took a very long time to get dilated and eventually I was put on pitocin anyway
Like @ladyblauvelt, I used cytotec and it still took about 24 hours to soften my cervix. After that, they started pitocin. I have to be induced at 39 weeks for medical reasons and my body was no where near ready with my 1st
I was induced and given cervidil to soften my cervix. I wasn't effaced or anything. Completely closed still and less then 12 hours I was pushing my baby girl out. No pitocin or anything else.

During my second induction the doctors wanted to try cytotec when the cervidil didn’t work after the first twelve hours but after reading up on it I declined to sign the waiver for it. I know it sounds silly because anything can happen with any medication but the stories I read about the cytotec scared me enough for me to ask for another twelve hours of cervidil instead lol I was just seeing if anyone had any bad experiences with the cytotec since it seems that’s going to be my option this time around

Went in the hospital at 6am and started first pill at 7 am and another one at 12 pm walked and got into the birthing bath to help relax but didn’t work, had abnormal contractions no pitocin was needed but I did ask for a epidural and gave birth at 7:45 pm! It was such a great relaxing experience compared to my other kids natural births I actually got to enjoy it this time❤️
