Usually doctors won’t induced unless it’s medically necessary

But I was induced both times first time sucks second time was easy just depends if your body is ready or forcing the baby out.

My husband works in the oilfield and our doctor wouldn’t/won’t book our csection delivery any earlier just because of his work schedule. So with our youngest he simply took parental leave, and will do it again next Spring. As an L&D nurse we wouldn’t and can’t induce someone at 38 weeks unless it’s medically necessary and that’s protocol, but it’s up to you and what’s best for your family if your doctors willing to do that.

My friend was induced at 39 weeks for her husband to be there. They are not allowed to induced before that unless a medical reason to do so. I think being induced is a bit harder and longer labor so I’ve heard.

@jamiladenise95, My husband took parental leave two days before our scheduled delivery date, because it wasn’t medically necessary our doctor wouldn’t book it any earlier. Generally they won’t induce over convenience the risk of baby remaining in utero must outweigh the risks of being delivered early to qualify for induction. My husbands been with his oilfield company 14 years they knew ahead of time I was pregnant and were aware he’d need to leave. Our oldest 8 years ago he missed because of transportation delays leaving work so he made sure they were aware that wouldn’t be happening again lol

@beakymcspence, they will allow him but with me not knowing when exactly she’s coming it will be hard bc he works out of state he does 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off

I personally wouldn’t do it. I know you want him there. But if he works 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off just pray and hope you go into labor when he is off and when your contractions get close call him so he can talk to his boss and be on his way home he can take leave from there on.. labor going on it’s own can still take a while and he might still be able to get home in time.

I know it’s stressful and you want him there but it’s best for baby not to be forced out with no medical reasons behind it. I wish mine could have came out in their own but for medical reasons I had to be induced

I would rather deliver without my husband there than risk the possible complications that come with a medically unnecessary induction

I’d carry full term and wouldn’t worry about what his work says about not being there, most businesses (unless military) offer that option for many reasons and would completely understand being there for the birth of a child.

Inducing early risks not having a fully developed baby. Which means, you may need to stay in the hospital for longer until they’re ready to come home or even more complications especially if you don’t know the exact week or two that you could be due. That risks the baby coming out too early. I wouldn’t induce early unless recommended by my doctor. Any other reason (to me) wouldn’t be worth not having a perfectly baked babe. 🙈😋

I would rather go into labor on my own or after 38 weeks but cannot due to medical reasons. I'm terrified of early induction. My husband is in truck driving training on the road since yesterday for 6 weeks. I'm now 29 weeks. We have no idea what will happen after he gets back. The only thing you can do is have your doctor write up a medical note showing your dates: my doctor did for me showing when I'm at 37 weeks. Your bf can then give that note to the HR in his company.
