how did you ladies manage to keep your toddler away from your newborn? I'm a little nervous just…

I also worry about this.

Baby gates. I would put the baby in his bouncer and put him on the other side of the gate in the living room and be right in the kitchen where I could see him but have toddler with me. Or baby wear him.

I closed all the room doors and rr and my toddler runs around living-room and hallway also I put a baby gate for kitchen, helped tons but I would most def get this one from Walmart (I'll post link in a sec) but it's a swinging one so it's better than having to hop over tons. So I sit in my love seat (seat 1) and on seat 2 I put all the stuff I will need for the time being spent in livingroom (diapers, bottles, pump, snacks, water, etc.) And the swing I place in front of it so that my toddler won't get the things and I'm in arms reach of my new-born. It's all about being comfy so I'd set up a mommy station. It really helped for us tons and my new-born is 2months and my toddler is starting to be more gentle with my new-born (with me watching over them of course). Hope this helps some. I’m planning on wearing this baby90% of the time 😂. I’m also going to try to get my toddler to “help” with things. Hopefully that makes it a bit easier.

I use something to distract mine, yes you’re toddler would want to be around the baby which is something they need to get used to, luckily my son loves u tube nursery Rhymes so he’s on that which distracts him, you just have to really watch ur toddler around ur NB it is a challenge but u will manage, also if you have SO with u they can also help with him keeping the toddler busy, or he has baby and u have ur toddler .. it will come to u. .. good luck
