Nope. I'd be a little pissed if someone said they were coming and then didn't and didn't have a good excuse either. I just befriended someone who I had been friends with for 30+ years. Some people just aren't who you think they are.

@jenylaielli88 40 people said they were coming only 20 showed up. If you couldn't make it then that's fine but don't tell me your coming then don't show up or even send a text or call asking how it went or anything

@robyn3380 I even went to the Michigan with one of my friends the day before my shower and she never even came to the shower her excuse was Opps I got drunk and asked me how do I get there. Are you kidding me 1 I didn't even respond and 2 no way in he'll your gunna drive drunk you can stay home for all I care

@jenny955 that's messed up! You went out of.your way to go with your friend and she can't even stay sober long enough to come to your shower which she said she'd attend. I walked away from so many 'friends' when I had my first baby. They were all still single and childless so what they considered a fun night and what I considered a fun night had completely changed. It's hard, but you'll make new friends, mommy friends.

Not unless they had a legit reason to miss the shower.. who wants to miss any kind of shower anyway? Free food 🤷‍♀️ if they are willing to pass up free food they ain’t worth it!

Girl that's exactly why I hate throwing parties. So much food goes to waste people lie and say they're coming and never show. It irritates me so much because this one time I didn't provide enough food everyone had some shit to say. But if I don't know you're coming because you didn't RSVP why would I provide food for you? I'm sorry to hear that about your babyshower though at least now you know who and not to associate yourself around.

@robyn3380 yeah they all showed their true colors when it came to the baby shower.. Their loss tho I don't want people like that in my life anyway. I currently barley have any friends my boyfriend is my best friend. My family lives far so I'm so bored when he goes to work 6 days a week

@alicianoelle Yeah and my step mom bought so much food I had a taco bar I ended up taking so much home.. But hey it's tacos you can go wrong there. I stuffed my face when I got home that day because I was only able to have 1 taco we were running out of time for games and gifts we only have a time limit and the club house 😒😒😞

@jenny955 sadly that's usually when they do show their true colors. But it's better and easier to walk away now. I know what you mean. My family isn't super far (2 hr drive), but it's far enough and it sucks most days, especially when I'm pregnant. It's just me and the kids here 90% of the time. My husband is working 2 jobs now so that I can keep staying home with our son and the new baby when he/she arrives.

@robyn3380 yup same here my family lives and hour and a half away my dad and step mom are the only onea that are close but thats still a half hour drive. I will be a stay home mom also atleast ill have little peanut to keep me busy all day

@jenny955 my parents and sisters are my only family and they all are 2 hours away. Hubby wants to.move down south (Florida) but I won't go unless my parents move too. I'm not living that far from them. Having a little one does help for sure. They definitely keep you busy.

@robyn3380 I clean like 4 times a day even if it doesn't need to be cleaned I'm that bored lol but yeah he'll deff keep me busy and make the day go by faster when boyfriend is att work

@jenny955 my in laws barely talked to me before hand . A couple stopped when I got pregnant and most just lied like they actually support my daughter coming into this world . I just took it for what it is now none are invited to the hospital and keep asking but I don't respond lol

@jenny955 I want to clean, I NEED to clean, but I haven't had the energy to clean in over a month. It sucks. Lol

@jordanrwilliams25 you do what's comfortable for you. You don't HAVE to have anyone at the hospital if you don't want anyone there.

Not at all. It’s understandable if they couldn’t make it but to not even let you know is rude. A real friend wouldn’t miss a big event like that and not even acknowledge not being able to make it.

@jenny955 I cannot wait to get some energy back. I never felt this fatigued with my other kids, prob bc I was younger, but I feel like I do absolutely nothing and then on the rare occasion my husband has off from one or both jobs, he cleans. I feel bad but I just don't have it in me.

This happen to me today at my baby shower. I'm just going to fall back from people. Don't get me wrong I did cry and my feels are hurt. But I let it be I'm move forward with my life without them

@alyssa5792, I think you make a good point there but I also do think that CLOSE friends don’t do these type of things. An acquaintance, sure.

But what would be upsetting to me is that someone not reach out to let me know they couldn’t make it after saying they would, especially if I consider them a close friend. I think we all have at least 5 mins in the day to reach out and communicate something like that.
