So I put my son on a dairy free diet to see if it would help with his constipation. At first it worked great he was 💩great and even without me having to give him miralax or prune juice. Now idk if his father is following the dairy free diet because he’s back to not pooing so good and am I’m having to give him miralax all the time and prune juice mixed with every thing he drinks just to get him to go maybe a few times a week :/ idk if I should just go back to giving him dairy since who knows who is anyway or keep trying? His doctor recommended to try cutting it so that’s why I did and I saw an improvement. But now idk :( it’s so expensive I hate to waste my money if everyone who takes care of my child isn’t following the diet he is suppose to have. Or maybe it’s just not working anymore.

It can take a little for dairy to leave your system. I’d definitely ask though because his health is not a joke or something to brush off. If it is dairy it’s better to know now and make the change to his diet rather than wait.

@santistevanmommie, I know! I’ve told everyone that his doctor said to put him on a dairy free diet because he has severe constipation. But idk if they take it seriously. :/ I know everyone in my house hold does. And I’ve had him dairy free for oh idk 2 months or so. So that’s why I think he’s getting dairy somewhere because he was going so well and then he gets constipated. Then I have to load him up with laxatives till he starts going again.

@missjess, oh yeah he’s definitely getting it somewhere else. That’s messed up though. Constipation is hard to go through especially with a child they should be much more careful.

@devap08, well my son sees a pediatric gastroenterologist and that’s what she recommends is the miralax and she also gave him a prescription laxative if the miralax doesn’t work within a certain amount of days.
