Is there certain bottles you need to get for a breast pump? I'm getting one from the doctor

Most pumps come with at least one bottle. Two if it's a double.

Some pumps come with more bottles. Mine came with 4 plus 2 to pump into.

The one I got (spectra s2) came with two bottles and backup equipment. The MAM brand bottles are also compatible, so its really convenient.

Yep! Most pumps come as a kit. Containing everything you need to pump and feed.

I got bottles but I can use those on a later date

You can put your milk in whatever bottles you want. I always pumped and transferred to a bag to freeze. Then we used latch bottles for feedings.
